Ben: Will said I'm not his brother anymore. {crying}Me: Will, why did you say that?
Will: I didn't say that. I said I'm not his brother anymore.
Me: Why would you say such unkind words?
Will: Well, sometimes he won't do what I want him to do. {Boy, do I know that feeling!}
Me: Ben, you will always be his brother. No matter what. You were born his brother and nothing can change that. Will, apologize to your brother for hurting his feelings..... Now, why does Ben have marker on his forehead? (Sidenote: Ben often writes on himself if he finds a pen or marker while unsupervised.)
Will: I did it so we can sell him.
Me: WHAT?! We are not selling your brother.
Will: I don't want him anymore.
Me: We are not selling your brother. Ben, we do want you. I would be sad if you were gone. If you want to sell him why did you write on him?
Will: In case we decide we want him back. We'll be able to tell which "Ben" belongs to us.

That is the funniest thing I have ever heard!!! That's hysterical!!! And now sadly when Rhode Island goes through a horrible famine, Ben won't be able to interpret the governor's dream and save everyone!
What are big brothers for except to sell their little brothers? At least he marked him just in case he might want him back one day.

Interesting application of what Will's been learning from Bible stories! AS I remember, he also once wanted to trade Ben for a puppy and dog house. "Sensitivity training" for kids is a long process. Good story.

Thank you so much for sharing that! So funny! I recall convincing my sister that she was adopted. Fortunately she turned out "normal" :) and I would like to say that I helped to make her as tenacious as she is today.
NO WAY! I am laughing so hard right now. I'm waiting for the day that my boys come up with something crazy. I'm so glad you write all this stuff down...it reminds me to do the same!
