Project 10: Real Women, Real Fitness

I am so excited to finally tell you about Project 10: Real Women, Real Fitness!

Project 10 emerged out of my own frustration with diet/nutrition books that want me to eat food I can't afford (or my family won't eat) and exercise unrealistic amounts of time each day. I truly believe that we can live real lives, eat mainstream food, and enjoy real fitness - one choice at a time.

As I thought over my frustration with weight loss, nutrition, diet, and exercise I realized I'm not alone in my journey to fitness! Women like me are everywhere. Women who desperately want to fit in those cute summer shorts they bought last season. Women who want to play active games with their children. Women who feel stuck with an "extra 10 pounds" that just won't budge.

Who is Project 10?

That's when I decided to start a weekly link up for fitness and weight loss posts. I reached out to my fellow Rhode Island women bloggers and asked if anyone would like to join me this summer in blogging our journey to fitness. Within 20 minutes a dozen women enthusiastically said, "YES!"

See? I'm totally not alone in this!

We are unique women with real lives. We love our husbands or our boyfriends. We mother our fur babies and human babies. We work full time jobs, part time jobs, from home and in offices; and some of us are stay-at-home moms.

We don't work out all day with personal trainers. We don't have private chefs to prepare all of our meals.  We're just ordinary women, like you, making choices that will produce healthy and fit bodies.

What is Project 10?

Each Wednesday morning I will publish a link-up post. Participants will share 1-3 posts they've written the previous week pertaining to weight loss or fitness. We will share our:

  • successes and struggles,
  • favorite recipes,
  • favorite apps and websites for fitness/nutrition/recipes,
  • exercise routines and products,
  • and, of course, our before/after photos.

What's our goal?

Our goal for Project 10 is to create a support group that encourages and inspires women to make healthy choices.

Our personal goals vary. Some want to lose weight. Others want to tone muscles and increase endurance. All of us want to be fit and healthy.

Join us!

I invite you to read each Project 10 participant:

Mama Luvs Books, Sweet Lil' You, Learning to Juggle, My Wrinkle in Time, Soxy's Diamond, The New Modern Momma, Blush Mamas, Baby Makes Four, and Filling Our Bucket, and Project 10's personal fitness adviser Running and Cupcakes!

Don't forget to leave encouraging comments to help motivate us when the bag of chocolate chips is calling our names!

If you have an extra "10 pounds" (or more) I invite you to grab the button and link up your own Project 10 post or just share your journey in the comments so we can encourage YOU.

We can live real lives and enjoy real fitness, one choice at a time.

Project 10 is a really AMAZING idea :) But please ask the participants to update their blogs as frequent as they can cause I'm excited to get the updates :)

BTW, do you plan to get on some specific diets or something like that? as I've read from a friend of mine (she's a bodybuilding trainer) there are some special protein diets that help to lose weight faster and to get better results from the exercises. Here is her blog about the best protein for women. If you find any valuable info there it would be great to see a post regarding it here on your blog.
