We completed the major parts of the remodel within a couple of weeks, the finer parts of the decorating took me awhile though. Thankfully I have a good friend who's great at decorating! She gave me a few ideas and I slowly found pieces to that matched her recommendations. The finishing touches went in place just last month.
Now we have a totally different bathroom! I'm so not exaggerating and here's the photographic proof.
Ugly Bathroom before |
Beautiful Bathroom After |
The mason jars are filled with Q-Tips, cotton balls, and a green shower pouf. |
I finished the bench, bought the basket at Ann & Hope, and had everything else. |
All together I think the new bathroom cost us about $600 (I didn't add it all up in the end). Not bad for such dramatic results!! I still like to just admire how pretty the room is.
Have you ever remodeled a bathroom? How did it turn out?

Love it! It turned out great...it fits you--simple, classic, with fun mixed in! :)
Beautiful work, Stephanie! Great job!
Thank you! I love how it looks like a grown up bathroom and not a kids bathroom. One day I'll have a master bathroom to decorate all pretty.
Awesome! I think you may potentially begin to fall in love with your house haha j/k! Where did you get the "family" picture?
That is beautiful, steph! Very clean and outdoorsy. ;) I did in fact remodel the bathroom in our first apt.... rented!... it was so old that the layers of wall paper were peeling from under the paint. I scraped, painted everything "satin cream" and made a shower curtain and cafe curtain in lavender, forest, and cream. Prettier than it sounds, compaired to the starting gate.
Leeta, I found the picture about family at Ann & Hope months ago. I've seen similar art work at other stores.
I really do like my house. It has been great for this stage of my life. All my babies are close at night and I definitely couldn't have kept a larger house clean. But, as my kids are getting bigger we need a bigger house!
Thanks, @tiasmomma! Your remodeled bathroom sounds pretty. I'm sure it was better than what you started with!!
I'm very impressed. Can I hire you?
Thanks Westafricanrains! And no, you may not hire us. It only took me 7 years of living in this house to finally convince my hubby to remodel that bathroom!
Oh wow! That IS a dramatic difference! I LOVE what you ended up doing with the room and space. Beautiful! (A lot of hard work too, I know!) But it definitely paid off.
a fun bath redo! great projects. I've recently been working on my bathroom and mine is much smaller than yours! lol, it's a tought re-do with space.
anyway, I'm a new follower! and I saw you on tip junkie.
