Remodeling Our Bathroom

We are just having tons of fun at the Stephanie's Mommy Brain house {read that again with strong sarcasm}.  We are hoping to put our house up for sale in a month or two so we've been feverishly doing house projects.

First, we painted the boys' bedroom.  Then we painted and installed a closet system in our hall linen closet.  And now we've (and by 'we' I really mean Hubby) pulled everything out of our half bathroom and are in the process of filling holes, replacing the vinyl, replacing the toilet and sink and painting.

My poor husband is soooo tired.

Here's a peak at all the work he's been doing.

Before the Demolition

Inspired by Destruction House on DIY

Demolition Ben

I pulled off 95% of the incredibly ugly paneling.

Ellie helped carry the paneling out to the dumpster.

A not-so-clean slate to work with.
After 7 years of living with an incredibly ugly bathroom I'm finally going to get a beautiful one.  Just in time to sell it to someone else.

Have you ever remodeled a bathroom?  How'd it go?

My husband remodeled ours when N1 was around a year old. He painted, replaced the tub/shower and put in a new toilet all with the help of a book from Home Depot. I stayed very much out of the way. : )

I know you will be glad when it is done!

Stephanie, I've been through this before. Joel remodeled our main bathroom starting 6 weeks before Ben was due and ending about 3 weeks before Ellie was due (that's about 18 months). It was one of those projects that just wouldn't end. We probably have the exact same Home Depot book. :)

We had a man in our church in Memphis who was between jobs that helped us! :) ...which helped him AND us! win/win We painted it a pretty light blue color with white beadboard at the bottom and a pretty chair rail, new sink with pretty handles, new light and pretty wood floors. It didn't cost that much, but those few upgrades went a LOOONG way in such an outdated bathroom. I loved it...for the few months we had it done before we, too, moved. :) When we 1st married we put a pretty pedestal sink in our first house...loved it...very pretty. Todd had remodeled it before we married with his do-it-yourself book. He also did some tiling with a book from Home Depot. That was...fun. :)

=D Well...you'll at least get to enjoy a beautiful bathroom for...a little bit. Hopefully a short time though as it's no fun to keep a house clean and neat for showing indefinitely! Good luck with the home remodeling projects!

Looks like so much fun. Hopefully the house will sell quickly and all this...um, fun...will be worth it. : )
