Playing at a School Playground on Family Fun Friday

#23. Play at a school playground.

A short walk from our house brings you to a local elementary school with a great playground.  In fact, if my children attended public school instead of home school that's where they would go.  Since they aren't playing there every day for recess, they think walking over after school is out and during the summer is a great idea.

Ellie hangs while the boys and Daddy play baseball in the field.

Sam doesn't care that the bat and T are almost as tall as he is.

My climbing girl is why they invented skorts!

How cool is this 3 person slide?!

Does you family use a school playground during the summer?  Is it where your children attend school?

We've played on school playgrounds before in an attempt to introduce our kids to their new schools. One crazy year of our lives found my kids at 3 different schools and this was a great ice-breaking/tension-relieving idea!

Our neighborhood elementary school closed last May and we're moving to a new school with a new and super cool playground BUT school starts next week and it's still under construction so my idea won't work this time around. It's okay though. I think I'm the one with the most apprehension about the newness of everything coming up.

Yup! Our best local playground is attached to one of the local schools. But it's close by and fabulous! Favorite play place!

School playgrounds are great! Some of ours locally are closed to the public, though...

We usually use the town park's playground, but it tends to get pretty busy! I've found that people don't think to head to the local school one. Makes for a great playdate spot!! Look like y'all had fun! :)

We're really spoiled to live in an area with several great playgrounds - however, we do have to drive to all of them. Which in this heat is okay for now.

What a cool playground! I love that Ellie wants to wear skirts and still climb. : ) We don't visit many playgrounds. I would love to find one around here that is accessible for Emily, but since we are in the boonies, it is not likely.
