Dear Cracker Barrel

Dear Cracker Barrel,

Thank you for being the best family friendly restaurant ever!!

We have been regularly (once every 2-3 months) visiting the same Cracker Barrel restaurant since it opened 7 years ago.  We also stop at your restaurant when we are traveling and have found the same service and hospitality in those restaurants as we find at the one in Rhode Island.

We love your baby boards (for infant carriers), high chairs and booster seats.  I don't know where you get them from but they are AWESOME!  I can't tell you how wonderful it is not to have your newborn perched precariously on an upside-down high chair!  Or how fabulous it is to have your toddler/preschooler sit at the table in a regular place rather than at the end of the table where the waiter has to serve hot food over him!  I've even filled out surveys for other restaurants and recommended they replace their high chairs/ booster seats with yours!!

I also appreciate sitting at a regular table for 6 rather than being squeezed into a booth designed for 4 adults.  This makes us feel valued as a customer.

Speaking of feeling valued as a customer, your waiters and hostesses always welcome us and treat us like they want us there.  I realize that serving a family of 6 (with 4 children under 7) is a lot of work and a big mess (I do it every day so I know how much work it is!!) but your employees have never acted like this is a bother - something I can't say about most restaurants we visit.

I just wanted to say thank you for providing reasonably priced food in an environment where my family is welcomed and wanted!

Your Happy Customers,

The Stephanie's Mommy Brain Family

Ps.  If you should ever need a Mommy or Family Social Media Ambassador, I'm your mom!!  I love telling other moms how wonderful your restaurant is.

Disclosure:  I have not received compensation of any kind for this post.  I just really think Cracker Barrel is the best family-friendly restaurant out there!

DId you know there is a Cracker Barrel in Caddo Valley? We ate many meals there when we lived in Arkadelphia.

Other reasons I love Cracker Barrel:

1. The store is awesome! It always kept/keeps my kids occupied while we have to wait. Plus, their prices are pretty good. I still go there to buy cute, inexpensive Christmas ornaments and teacher gifts, and when we lived in Arkadelphia I would buy Razorback garb there.

2. You can rent audio books and switch them out at different Cracker Barrels along your route. My in-laws sometimes do that when they travel to CO. I think you have to pay a deposit, but you get it back when you return your audio books.

I had no idea I knew so many Cracker Barrel fans. :)

Mer, the Cracker Barrel in Caddo Valley came after we left. :( I had no idea about the audio book rental. I'll have to keep that in mind the next time we drive to AR or TX!

My husband came home this evening and directed me to your blog. He works at Cracker Barrel and found out about this blog. He thought I would be interested because I am from Arkadelphia/Gurdon (Gurdon '92) and thought I might know you. When did you graduate? In any event, nice to meet another blogger from Clark County, and especially one that loves C.B. They work hard on their service.

I do love Cracker Barrel. We get a little down-home flavor here in New England, and that's not easy to do!

Also, the prices are great (again, compared to other NE restaurants).

I do think that service is sometimes slow, but not because they don't care. We just know it's not a quick stop (for example, if we are traveling on the road).

Jennifer, it's the only place I can get fried catfish! The hushpuppies are lacking a little bit but I just chalk that up as New England cooks who don't know not to fry the things until they're hockey pucks. You are so right about the price. My family of 6 usually spends around $35, unlike other NE restaurants where it always costs us over $50!

Caroline, I attended K-3rd grade in Arkadelphia while my parents attended OBU. Then I also attended OBU. We moved a lot when I was growing up so Arkadelphia was the longest I lived in one town (though not consecutively) until my husband and I bought our current home. I graduated high school (in eastern AR) in '93 so that would put us close in age. :)

I hope everyone at Cracker Barrel enjoyed my review. We really do like the restaurant. My kids often ask if we can go to "the pancake restaurant." :)

We love CB too!! We actually just left there and I was searching for an online source of their boosters. That's how I found your blog. I wish they would sell them.

We only go to CB when we are travelling so for my kids its a special treat (we have 4 too). Right now they have a great cranberry turkey salad and delicious cranberry apple sweet tea.

Its funny you doing a post just because you love something. I do that too. Im going to browse some more of your blog.
