There was a time when our Christmas tree went up a week before Christmas and came down, well, whenever I got around to it. But now we have children.
Children who have wanted to play Christmas music and put up lights since the beginning of November!! (I refused until the day after Thanksgiving. I'm a purist about that.)
So, for what MUST be a record at our house, Joel and the kids carried up our Christmas tubs Sunday afternoon, we turned on the Christmas CDs and started decorating our tree.
Yes, I realize it's kind of a sad, little display. I promise I have a 6 foot(ish) tree stored in the basement.
But I ask that you keep in mind the smallness of my living room and the smallness of my Sammy Boy. He's only a year but he walks. And can climb one step.
I'm afraid a full size tree sitting on the floor would be our undoing!

Very fun! Isn't great having everything decorated? My parents gave the kids the Little People nativity as an early gift. All 3 M's are enjoying it!
M'Kayla can get 2 steps up the bunk bed ladder. She can't walk, but I think she's going to be a climber! :)
Oo. Hey, hey, hey! The Christmas Tour of Homes is coming right up. It's so fun to see how other people decorate and I'm looking forward to it!
Looks great! Sounds like you had a fun day as a family. Your tree looks amazing compared to the sad little tree that is sitting on one of our tables. It is about 1 foot tall - I bought it at Big Lots this year along with some ornaments, one set of lights and a star for the top. Very sad! We just didn't have space in our little shoe box for a Christmas tree this year.
I am bummed because I think Emily would have really enjoyed it this year! Last year she did not notice that there was a 7 foot tree in the room - this year she stares and stares at the lights on our tiny little tree. And we went to someone's house yesterday and she was craning and craning her neck to see their tree until I turned her chair to face it. *sigh*
wow! where have i been? sam is soooo big!!!
