Dear Regular Readers,
I have been receiving spam comments on some of my old posts. I have been going into each post, deleting the spam and closing comments on the individual posts.
Unfortunately the amount of spam is increasing and taking more time (and annoyance) to delete.
As a reader, I prefer to see my comments immediately, because of this I have never moderated my comments. But the spammers have driven me to it.
For now I will set comments to be moderated. I'm truly sorry about this.

Moderate away. I think (see, I can't even remember?) that i have word verification and that slows the spam WAAAAY down. I probably only get 1-3 spam comments a month which I don't consider too bad. But if it got worse, I'd do the same as you.
ReplyDeleteIsn't that frustrating? We had a spam comment on one of our posts recently. UGH!
ReplyDeleteSame thing is happening to me, but it's only with old posts, so I just set my moderating to older than ______ (I don't remember the date). I get 1 or 2 almost daily, and it works well.
ReplyDeleteI've switched to only moderating older comments. Hopefully this will take care of the spam.
